How You Can Help!

Be an On-the-Water Ambassador

  • Make sure you have all required equipment under Transport Canada Regulations

  • Operate your watercraft in a safe and courteous manner and ensure the safety of your passengers

  • Be mindful of wildlife while enjoying the lake. This includes monitoring your boat’s wake while close to shore.

  • Did you know we have a 30 m slow zone adjacent to private properties to protect shorelines, structures and aquatic habitats?

Help Protect Trout Lake
• Avoid transporting invasive species from other waterbodies – pressure wash your boat and equipment and drain your bilge water before you launch - See Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers for more information
• Practice Leave no Trace and Pack-it-in / Pack-it-out when enjoying Trout Lake. We all love a clean lake!

Catch Your Limit

  • Be aware that fishing is prohibited in sanctuaries located west of Poplar Island and south of Camp Island between May 15th and July 31st

  • Note the health restrictions on eating certain species of fish from Trout Lake due to Mercury and PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances)

  • Do not release live bait into Trout Lake
